Instead of seeking the inner beauty and essence of our being within, we seek it outside of ourselves. We lose ourselves in trying to find validation of our own worth and beauty from strangers, whom we thereby give the power to hold us in their relentless grip. It is a disturbing transformation in the perception of our physical and mental image brought about by the influence of social media and the digital age.
